What Happened?

23 April 1947: A light British military truck (15 cwt) was struck by a land mine that exploded near a three-ton lorry on Wilhelma-Petah Tikva Road, three miles from Jaffa. The explosion blew the light truck off the road, resulting in four injuries.

Irgun militants shot at the British soldiers from a nearby orange grove. A day earlier, Lehi had created over 35 casualties in a lethal train bombing attack that targeted both innocent civilians and military forces.
