What Happened?

19 April 1947: Seven men and a young girl belonging to the Irgun Zvai Leumi attacked the Netanya Leave Camp, killing an 18-year-old British sentry posted at the entrance.

The attackers blew up the camp’s Medical Inspection room and the house of the Officer Commanding before making their escape. The British Army announced that it had killed one of the terrorists during this raid.
