Tulkarm Military Convoy Attack – Mar 1947

Date: 12/03/1947

Location: Tulkarm

Perpetrators: Lehi

Victims: Failed attack

What Happened?

12 March 1947: A British military convoy was fired at by Israeli (Lehi / Stern Gang) militants as it passed the town of Tulkarem in the evening. The attack failed to inflict any casualties.

This attack coincided with the deadly attack on the British Army’s Pay Corps at the Syrian Orphanage in Al-Quds (Jerusalem), a response to Operation Hippo to curb Zionist terrorism. Multiple smaller attacks happened on this day.
