What Happened?

12 March 1947: A British military convoy was ambushed by electronically detonated mines on the Rishon Le Zion – Beit Dajam main road. The attack happened in the morning hours. No damage occurred to the convoy. Israeli militants cut the telephone wires to disrupt local communications.

This attack coincided with the deadly attack on the British Army’s Pay Corps at the Syrian Orphanage in Al-Quds (Jerusalem), a response to Operation Hippo to curb Zionist terrorism. Multiple smaller attacks happened on this day.
