Army Camp No. 82 Raid – Mar 1947

Date: 12/03/1947

Location: Pardes Hanna-Karkur

Perpetrators: Lehi

What Happened?

12 March 1947: Lehi militants began a failed raid at the British Army Camp No. 82 near Karkur. The army sentries reported an assault by three or four men with automatic weapons. The attackers threw two hand grenades. No casualties occurred.

This attack coincided with the deadly attack on the British Army’s Pay Corps at the Syrian Orphanage in Al-Quds (Jerusalem), a response to Operation Hippo to curb Zionist terrorism. Multiple smaller attacks happened on this day.
