What Happened?

3 April 1947: A military truck carrying British soldiers belonging to the 6th Airborne Division was ambushed by an electrically detonated mine, concealed as a milestone. Two soldiers and three civilians were injured in the explosion.

This attack happened a few days after Zionist militants had bombed the Haifa Refinery. Local police began investigating this terror attack and ordered the forfeiture of two houses in the Herzlia Quarter, however, this order was later withdrawn on 14 April 1947.
