Date: 12/03/1947

Location: Tel Aviv-Jaffa

Perpetrators: Lehi

Victims: 1 soldier injured

What Happened?

12 March 1947: A British military car was shot at on the Tel Aviv-Haifa road by what is described as a Bren gun, extensively manufactured and used by illegal Israeli militant groups in Mandate Palestine. A British soldier was injured in the attack.

This attack coincided with the deadly attack on the British Army’s Pay Corps at the Syrian Orphanage in Al-Quds (Jerusalem), a response to Operation Hippo to curb Zionist terrorism. Multiple smaller attacks happened on this day.
