CIA: Pre-State Israel Hid Weapons & Bombs in Schools and Churches to Massacre Arabs & Brits

Declassified CIA reports and British Government Communiques reveal how Israel’s founding terror groups stored bombs and weapons in civilian infrastructure. Exactly what Israel accuses Hamas of doing.

For the past two years, Israel has relentlessly bombed U.N. schools and critical hospitals across the Gaza Strip. Scratch that. For the last seventy years, Israel has bombed schools, hospitals, mosques and public facilities claiming that Palestinians are immoral for hiding arms and fighters in such places.

“Israel’s claims and condemnations are justified. Even terror organisations should obey the basic rules of right and wrong” wrote an Israeli journalist for Haaretz in 2011.

But were Israel’s terror groups (or militias, as the West prefers to call them) bound to the same rules? A declassified CIA report from 1948 learns that Irgun, Lehi, and Haganah (which went on to form the Israeli government & IDF), hid their illegal arms and bombs in schools, synagogues, and hospitals.

Every accusation is a confession. So I began an investigation of my own, taking tips from declassified Mi5 and CIA documents to demonstrate how Zionist / Israeli terror groups used the same tactics they accuse Hamas of today.

    Bombs Hoarded in Homes

The Official Communique of the Mandate Palestine government, no 78 reported on a series of raids against Zionist terrorists in Tel Aviv (1st August 1946). The following were seized from the homes of various Israeli terrorists.

“Seizures included 2 pistols; 186 wooden box mines of local manufacture ready for filling; 478 bombs and grenades of various types; 40 Molotov cocktails of local manufacture; 5 Bangalore torpedos; * mortar shell; 1 attache case full of bombs; 159 rounds of assorted ammunition; large quantities of detonators…

fuse wire and electrical equipment; numbers of magazines for automatic weapons; quantities of different types of explosives; military and police uniforms; military documents of identity; steel helmets; rifle slings; webbing equipment, etc. Various documents and training manuals in Hebrew were also found.”

A very large number of documents and military training pamphlets in Hebrew were also found in a home on Ben Yehuda Street.

A separate raid on a Jewish man’s home recovered 500 box mines and electrical detonators. Another raid on a basement in the Givat Shaul Quarter of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) found 3 Thompson submachine guns, 3 revolvers, 5 hand grenades, assorted ammunition, and clothing to disguise one as an Arab, British Army officer, and Royal Airforce officer.

    Huge Caches in Schools

The British Army raided another Israeli weapons cache, this time in a school, on 1st August 1946. It was one of the largest Zionist caches discovered in the Tel Aviv raids, raising the question: how many more weapons were hidden in schools and synagogues across Palestine?

The Bnei Akiva Ulpana (Girl’s religious school) located at 7 Lilienblum Street in Neve Tzedek, Tel Aviv is the historical site of the Tachkemoni Boys’ School. The school’s basement was used by Zionist terror groups (Haganah, in this case) to store guns, ammunition, grenades, mines, and bombs. The 3rd Battalion of the Parachute Regiment of the British Army thereafter occupied the building.

British soldiers discovered the hidden weapons after tapping on a hollow wall in a public bathroom. Behind it, they found grenades in beer tins, carefully oiled for long-term storage. Further inspection revealed deeper underground caches filled with a vast stockpile of arms and explosives.

The Official Communique by the British Army had the following to report (emphasis my own):

“Three separate arms caches were discovered in the basement of the school in Lilienblum Street where they had been built into the structure of the school. Seizures included: – 51 rifles; 75 pistols; 12 shotguns; 23 2″ mortars; 1,270 2″ mortar bombs; 1,841 bombs and grenades; 124,175 rounds of assorted ammunition; 1,100 ballistite cartridges; 1,650 shotgun cartridges; 1,500 assorted grenade caps; 7 grenade discharges

145 detonators; 50 electrical detonators; 72 bomb primer sets; 800 cordite sticks in containers; 7 booby traps; 73 assorted magazines; 1,072 grenade ignitor sets; 5 field telephones; 5 rolls of explosive slow burning fuse. Numerous spare parts for pistols, rifles and mortars were seized together with other military equipment in large quantities and documents.”

Synagogues for Arms and Fake Currency

Israeli terror groups hid weapons and bomb-making equipment in Tel Aviv’s Great Synagogue (110 Allenby St, Tel Aviv), reported after a raid by the British Army. Zionist terrorists had created a ‘false wall’ in the building interior to hide further caches. Image credit: Beko

“… the following arms and equipment were found concealed among bedding and religious literature in the base of the Great Synagogue in Allenby Road, the centre of religious life in Tel Aviv; 9 pistols of various makes; 3 of which were loaded; 16 Sten gun magazines,

4 Thompson sub-machine gun magazines; 850 rounds [of] .45 ammunition; 7 boxes of detonator assemblies; airborne and police uniforms; a radio transmitter; equipment for forging Government Bearer Bonds and 20,000 forged LP10 Bearer Bonds.”

The Tel Aviv Great Synagogue was used not only as an ammunition depot but also as a centre for forgery, to raise financing for more attacks and massacres.

    Hospitals Used as Fronts

The National Library of Israel in 2024 published an account of The Ayalon Institute, an illegal ammunition factory in Rehovot, Occupied Palestine.

The report proudly notes: “…It was here that weapons were produced for fighting against both the British Mandatory government and Arab terrorists.”

Ammunition used by Israeli terror groups in massacres such as Deir Yassin and King David Hotel was likely created by these illegal factories, now proudly decorated as a museum. Image credit: Hoshvilim

“To conceal the noise generated by the factory, the laundry needed to run constantly, but the locals did not generate enough dirty laundry to justify that. To make sure the cover remained airtight, additional laundry was sent from people in Rehovot and from the maternity hospital… The local carpentry shop and vegetable garden also served to conceal what was taking place below ground.”

Likely the maternity wards of the Assaf Harofeh Medical Center (now called Shamir Medical Center) were used to cover illegal ammunition factories in Rehovot. Humanitarian laws demand that hospital assets should not be covered or diverted for military operations, but Ayalon Institute was fronted as a laundry for a hospital. Image credit: Aharofeh

    Not Even Food is Safe

On 31st July, the British Army discovered two caches in Atarot, Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

“… two boxes containing ammunition and three milk churns containing bombs were discovered partly buried in the ground. The seizures included 2,974 rounds of ammunition, 49 ballistic cartridges and other material.”

Aftermath of King David Hotel Bombing
Milk churns were used to hide bombs in the terror attack on King David Hotel, where Irgun killed 91 innocents.

“The second cache, concealed in two inspection chambers of the colony’s irrigation pipe contained 28 rifles, and a sack of 20 rifle grenades. The rifles were well greased and were wrapped in grease-proof paper.”

An Israeli blogger provides a unique account of touring one of the Israeli hidden arms caches (locally called SLIKS). The blog identifies a 3-ton hopper that was mechanically engineered to slide as a cover to an underground weapons cache, surrounded by sacks of grain.

These are only a few examples

So Zionist terror groups hid arms in homes, schools, hospitals, and synagogues. As noted by the CIA, these raids established “almost to the point of certainty” that Tel Aviv was the headquarters of Zionist terrorism in Palestine.

There is evidence that even before the proclamation of the independent state of Israel a considerable capacity for the illegal manufacture of weapons and ammunition had been developed within the present boundaries of the new Jewish state.

Matériel so manufactured has been uncovered by numerous British police and military raids on various installations.
