Allenby Road Grenade Attack – Apr 1947

What Happened?

19 April 1947: A grenade was thrown at two police constables from a moving taxi in which sat four armed militants. The grenade blast injured two police constables, and the assailants were successful in escaping.

The local police later announced that a terrorist (wearing khakis, around 20 years of age) had been killed during this incident. This attack coincided with an armed raid on a British Army camp in Netanya, north of Tel Aviv-Jaffa.
