What Happened?

04 May 1947: An electrician working for the Ahava School in Kiriat Bialik found a large bomb near the Sports Ground, where many schoolchildren were playing. The local police were called to remove the bomb safely.

This failed attack was likely one of the many diversions set jointly by Irgun and Lehi, as part of their plan to attack Acre Prison and cause a prison break. Other documented attacks include a failed truck hijacking, a bomb in a school playground, and the explosion of a local bridge.
