Failed Truck Hijacking – May 1947

Date: 04/05/1947

Location: Acre

Perpetrators: Irgun or Lehi

Victims: 1 injured

What Happened?

04 May 1947: A Palestinian truck driver (Abdul Hamid Baghdadi) was left severely injured after refusing to hand over his truck to “terrorists.” The truck was presumably to be used as part of the Acre Prison raid jointly organised by the Zionist militants.

A local bridge over the Na’maan River was destroyed on the same day, and a large explosive was found in a school playground to the south.
