What Happened?

26 November 2011: 28 soldiers of the Frontier Corps, Pakistan’s paramilitary force responsible for patrolling its borders with Afghanistan and Iran, were killed and 11+ injured after a United States / ISAF helicopter opened fire on their mountain checkpost.

No official explanation was given for this attack. Pakistan responded by ordering the vacating of the Shamsi Airfield used by the United States in its Balochistan province. It also closed the Khyber Pass / Torkham Border used to supply US / ISAF forces in Afghanistan via Karachi.
