What Happened?
8 June 2011: At around 1145 hours in either the Zoi Narai or Miradin area of Tehsil Birmal, the U.S. carried out a drone attack with between four to five drones, striking a housing complex believing to be the hideout of suspected militants.
The compound was reported as a training center, but this report was unconfirmed. Between 18 and 23 “suspected militants” and “foreigners” died in this attack. Local villagers aided in retrieving the bodies of the dead and injured who were trapped under the rubble of the destroyed building.
Given the lack of any independent inquiry, this drone attack is considered undocumented.
