What Happened?

09 October 2008: A U.S. drone missile targeted a home in the Ghundi Kala area of North Waziristan. Local security officials alleged that the attack targeted a gathering of 30 Al-Qaeda and Taliban commanders, and that it killed 4-6 Arab militants. There were also reports of at least two women and children being killed.

An eyewitness testified to the UNHRC in 2012 that the attack targeted a family home that belonged to a local named Sultan Jan, who died in this attack. His son, Bukhtoor Gul; his uncle Aman Ullah Jan, and Aman’s son Imran Khan (a child), were also killed. The local testified that the family was not linked to any terror group.
