Date: 19/06/2007

Location: North Waziristan Agency, FATA, Pakistan

Perpetrators: United States

Victims: 34 Killed (34 civilians), 15 Injured (15 civilians)

What Happened?

19 June 2007: Multiple U.S. drone missiles struck a school and adjoining homes in the Mami Rogha area of North Waziristan Agency in Pakistan. The attack is reported to have killed 34+ people. A prominent local journalist, Rahimullah Yousafzai, was cited by the Washington Post as an eyewitness to the attack.

Yousafzai testified that the drone attacks had targeted a school and surrounding areas, contrary to Pentagon’s claim of targeting a militant training compound. There is a significant likelihood that children and school teachers were among those killed.

This is one of the least documented, high casualty count U.S. attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
