What Happened?

17 January 2018: US drone missiles struck a home in the Khani Kila area of Afghanistan’s Khost province. The attack is reported to have killed at least two people.

There is no independent verification of the identities of those killed. Neither official records nor local testimony confirm who the casualties were, or whether they had any militant affiliations.

Another US drone targeted a home on the same day in the Kurram Agency of Pakistan’s tribal areas, across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border from this attack.
