What Happened?

8 March 1947: Three British soldiers were seriously injured after being struck by two grenades near Cafe Rehavia in Al-Quds (Jerusalem). Irgun militants had lobbed them out of a moving taxi before escaping.

This attack was a response to the Operations ‘Hippo’ and ‘Elephant’ of the British army to curb Zionist terrorism in Mandatory Palestine. Multiple terror attacks were reported on this date.
