What Happened?
28 July 2013: A U.S. drone strike destroyed a house in the Zoi Narai area of Shawal Tehsil. This attack reportedly began at around 1800 hours. Reuters interviewed an alleged Taliban commander who reported that three Al Qaeda operatives were among the dead, identifying them as Abu Rashid, Muhammad Ilyas Kuwaiti, and Muhammad Sajid Yemeni.
The Express Tribune reported that the identities of the dead could not be established because the bodies were charred beyond recognition. New York Times quoted another militant commander claiming that all casualties in this drone strike were of fighters who had recently arrived from Afghanistan.
