What Happened?

03 July 2009: A mass-casualty event took place after multiple U.S. drone missiles struck an alleged ‘militant’ compound in the Zangara area of Ladha Tehsil in South Waziristan Agency. The attack is reported to have killed 17 people and left 35+ injured.

No independent investigation ever took place and it is unknown if whether the casualties were civilians or militants, making this an undocumented, high-casualty attack.

The actual location of this massacre is disputed, with some sources placing it somewhere in the Serwekai Tehsil of South Waziristan.
