What Happened?
26 September 2010: A U.S. drone strike destroyed a car, a house, or both in the Tarmora area of Datta Khel Tehsil. This attack happened at around 1750 hours. It was reported that ‘suspected militants’ were targeted, but their identities have never been independently confirmed.
This was the first in a series of three U.S. drone strikes in North Waziristan on this day. The identities of these casualties has never been known, raising the concern of so-called ‘signature strikes’ where drone strikes were conducted on mere visual assumptions instead of ground intelligence.
