Tappi (N. Waziristan) Drone Attack VI – Jun 2012

Date: 13/06/2012

Location: North Waziristan Agency, FATA, Pakistan

Perpetrators: United States

Victims: 4 Killed

What Happened?

13 June 2012: A U.S. drone strike destroyed a moving car in the Malik Ajder Village link road in the Tappi area of Miranshah Tehsil. This attack reportedly occurred at 1825 hours and used two missiles. Some sources report that this attack happened in the Isha village instead.

Nothing is known about the identities of the victims. An anonymous security official reportedly called the casualties ‘suspected militants’, however nothing else is known about the nature and intended target of this attack. Data published years later by FATA officials indicate that a Pakistani state car was destroyed in this attack.

This allegation increases the likelihood of possible civilian casualties. Given the lack of any independent inquiry, this attack is classified as undocumented.
