What Happened?
28 December 2010: A U.S. drone strike destroyed a house in the Stanai Algad or Sherkhel area in Ghulam Khan Tehsil. This attack happened at around 1230 hours. This U.S. drone strike targeted the rescuers who were digging through the rubble of an earlier attack.
Media reports indicate that this drone strike had multiple double-tap missiles. The first killed four people who were looking for survivors. The second killed another group of four rescuers and left three injured. There is a significant likelihood that casualties were civilians.
The area was described to be inhabited by Afghan nomads. It has never been independently verified if whether the nomads were targeted in this attack.
