What Happened?
21 September 2012: A U.S. drone strike destroyed a moving car in the Landay Muhammad Khel area of Datta Khel Tehsil. This attack occurred at around 0800 hours. Security officials alleged that militants linked to the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group were killed.
A local news agency, Pakistan Observer, gathered testimony from local tribesmen indicating that the victims were all civilians and that they had no affiliation with any militant group or network.
Data published years later by FATA officials indicates that a Pakistani state car was targeted in this attack. Given the contradictions and possible involvement of state assets, this attack is considered undocumented.
