What Happened?
24 September 2014: A U.S. drone strike destroyed a house and car in the Lawara Mandi area of Datta Khel Tehsil. AFP reported a death toll of 8, AP reported a death toll of 10, while The News reported that 10 Uzbek were killed. However, their identities have never been independently confirmed.
It is possible that this U.S. drone attack may have killed the senior Al-Qaeda leader Abu Dujana al Pasha, who was the son-in-law of Ayman Al-Zawahiri. His death was announced around the beginning of Dhu al-Qi’dah 1435, which corresponds to 27 August to 24 September 2014. This is the only known U.S. drone attack for this period, which indicates the possibility of another undocumented and unreported U.S. drone attack.
