What Happened?
22 August 2010: A U.S. drone strike destroyed an unknown house in the Khaisori area of Mirali Tehsil, at an unknown time. A Pakistani media source, The News, alleges that Al-Qaeda’s second-in-command Atiyah abd Al-Rehman was killed in this attack, reporting that 3 men, 2 children, and 1 woman were killed.
These allegations indicate the possibility that Al-Rehman’s family was killed alongside him. Other sources point to an earlier drone attack in nearby Naurak to have killed Al-Rehman.
This U.S. drone attack is highly obscure, having only been reported by The News. It is not logged in the FATA official records. This drone attack is therefore considered undocumented.
