What Happened?
11 May 2010: A U.S. drone strike targeted the village of Inzar Kas or Kazha Madda Khel in Datta Khel Tehsil. A drone strike at a nearby village two days earlier had killed at least four civilians. The official narrative was that the CIA had targeted a hideout of suspected militants.
An anonymous Pakistani official is reported to have claimed that a missile struck a civilian home and that more casualties are expected. However, there has never been any independent inquiry into the nature and count of the casualties. Pakistani officials also indicated that drone strikes could intensify in the area.
