What Happened?
10 July 2014: A U.S. drone strike destroyed a house in the and car in the Doga Mada Khel area of Datta Khel Tehsil. The attack reportedly began at around 0500 hours. Media reports alleged that six people had been killed in this attack. The Long War Journal alleged that all six victims were Al Qaeda members and alleged their identities as: Abu Abdul Rehman Al-Kuwaiti, Taj Al-Makki, and Faiz Awda Al-Khalidi.
The News reported testimony of a local man that the Taliban did not announce the death of these men on mosque loudspeakers, which was a practice they normally did when local people were killed.
By this time the Pakistan Army’s Operation Zarb e Azb was fully underway and Islamabad claimed control over most of Miranshah.
