What Happened?
26 April 1947: A land mine exploded near a Sarona Police billet in Sarona, Tel Aviv-Jaffa. The police later confirmed that the mine had been set up by the banned terrorist outfit, Lohamei Herut Yisrael (Lehi).
The explosion led to the deaths of 4 police officers and injured 6 more people. The police pursued two Lehi terrorists but could not trace them. The blast was felt across Tel Aviv.
