Tappi Ghundikala (N. Waziristan) Drone Attack – Aug 2008

What Happened?

31 August 2008: A U.S. drone attack targeted a house in the village of Tappi near Miranshah in North Waziristan. The house belonged to either Nasir Dawar or Sawar Khan Dawar.

At least 9 civilians, including 5 women and 4 children were killed. A local schoolteacher Raees Khan’s family was among those killed.

CIA alleged that 2 Al Qaeda militants had been killed in this attack, while claiming that no civilians or children had been killed.

This is an undocumented attack and needs independent verification.
