Victims: 3 children, 5 civilians killed

What Happened?

05 November 2005: A U.S. drone missile struck the house of a Abu Hamza Rabia in the Musakki area (outside Mir Ali) in North Waziristan Agency of Pakistan.

Rabia was an Al-Qaeda leader of Egyptian origin, widely considered to be Al-Qaeda’s third-in-command. Rabia was only injured in this attack, but his wife and at least three children, all daughters, were killed.

Nasir Dawar, an eyewitness and TV reporter said: “I grabbed my Kalashnikov, because I thought somebody fired a rocket at my house… There was nothing left but body parts, and a kid lying under some bricks.”

It is believed that all victims in this attack were civilians.

Rabia was targeted and killed three weeks later in another drone attack that also killed two more children and a woman. See here: Khaisori (N. Waziristan) Drone Attack – Dec 2005.
