What Happened?
01 January 2011: A U.S. drone strike targeted rescuers that dug through the rubble of an earlier drone strike in the Qari Markaz area of Mandi Khel in Spinwam Tehsil. This attack happened at around 0915 hours, an hour after the initial drone strike.
An investigation by the Associated Press in 2012 used local interviews to conclude that all casualties in this drone strike were militants.
