Loi Shalman (Khyber Agency) Drone Attack – Dec 2013

What Happened?
14 December 2013: A US drone strike in the Mach Magai area of Khyber Agency (FATA) struck a boat on the Kabul River. The attack is reported to have killed at least 5 people, while two injured ‘Hamid’ and ‘Shabir’ were rushed to a nearby hospital in Landi Kotal.
The United States reported the victims as “suspected militants.”
There was no independent verification of the identities of those killed. Neither official records nor local testimony confirm who the casualties were, or whether they had any militant affiliations.

On-the-ground interviews of the affected tribes by Waqar Ahmed show that all of the killed victims were fishermen.
