Kaloosha Azam Warsak (S. Waziristan) – Feb 2008

Date: 28/02/2026

Location: South Waziristan Agency, FATA, Pakistan

Perpetrators: United States

Victims: 13 Killed, 15 Injured

What Happened?

28 February 2008: A U.S. drone strike targeted a school in Kaloosha area of Azam Warsak in South Waziristan Agency. The CIA claimed that it had targeted an Al Qaeda militant training camp, killing more than 10 people and injuring many more.

Data from Islamabad’s FATA secretariat claimed that 06 of the dead were non-local. However, a Pakistan Tribune report from that time alleges that local residents and eyewitnesses reported that a majority of those killed were children.

No independent verification of this attack yet exists. Because this attack targeted a madrassa / religious school, there is a high likelihood that children were amongst the casualties.
