Issori (N. Waziristan) Massacre – Oct 2008

Date: 31/10/2008

Location: North Waziristan, FATA, Pakistan

Perpetrators: United States

Victims: 25 Killed (20 civilians), 20 Injured

What Happened?

31 October 2008: A U.S. drone attack targeted an unknown structure, possibly a house, in the Issori area of Mirali in North Waziristan Agency. There is little to no information about the nature of the casualties.

CIA alleged that the attack killed Al-Qaeda militants including Abu Kasha and Abu Jihad Al-Misri. A son of Abu Kasha had allegedly been killed in the nearby town of Mussaki in November 2005.

A secret FATA document from that time alleges that those killed in this attack were civilians.

There is a high possibility of large amount of civilian deaths in this attack. For this reason, it is considered undocumented and requires independent verification.
