Ganki Khel (S. Waziristan) Drone Strike – Aug 2008

What Happened?

27 August 2008: A U.S. drone missile targeted the home of a ‘Sardali Khan’ in the Ganki Khel area of Wana in South Waziristan. A family of a woman, two young boys, and a girl were injured in this attack.

Despite injuring women and children, the CIA claimed in their internal memos that this attack had not caused any collateral damage.

This drone attack is undocumented as the identities of the victims are not known.

Three days later, another U.S. drone attack targeted the same locality, killed 5 people and injuring 4.
