Killed By Who? How Western Media Hides Israel’s Genocide, Pt.3

For the past two reports, I have been sharing an assortment of Western media headlines that slither away from even naming ‘Israel’, despite being the aggressor in war crimes.

Part 1: Killed By Who? How Western Media Hides Israeli War Crimes, Pt.1

Part 2: Killed By Who? Western Media Hides Israel’s Gaza Genocide, Pt.2

The past few weeks the world has seen an escalation of war crimes and civilian massacres by Israel into Lebanon, cheered by western leaders. Western media is again shamelessly protecting Israel where it can.

Throwing and delivering bodies

BBC headline protecting Israel
While there’s little misleading about this headline, notice the dehumanisation of dead Palestinians as mere ‘bodies’. This headline provides useful context for the second, more misleading, headline.

Shamelessly, NBC preferred to mislead its audience by using the word ‘tipping’ instead of throwing. Tipping doesn’t imply that the Palestinian body was thrown.

The verb used is ‘tipping’, an outright lie to the definition. A body is clearly kicked and thrown off the roof, but NBC wants to soften Israel’s crime. Credit: NBC.

Unidentified bodies have been ‘sent’ by Israel (why not number them at 88? why not call them human bodies?) There’s no outrage or journalistic investigation over this heinously casual ‘delivery’ of decomposing bodies in a container. Imagine the world’s reaction if these were Israeli citizens. Credit: NBC

BBC hires Zionist journalists.
After Israel massacred thousands of civilians in Lebanon, it started a Nakba that the Lebanese PM called ‘largest displacement that may have happened.’ Here, BBC uses a shamelessly pro-Zionist journalist (associated with Camera-UK) who intentionally misquotes the Lebanese PM to sow doubt that a displacement ‘may have happened’. If you think Western journalism is unbiased and objective, think again. The headline above sows doubt that a displacement may not even have happened. These are the folks who warn about ‘disinformation’ and ‘propaganda’.

BBC protects Israel's genocide
Headline doesn’t mention Israel’s role in killing civilians. The author spends the first eight paragraphs calling the situation bad, but doesn’t dare mention why it is bad. Who’s killing the civilians? Credit: BBC

CNN protects Israel
What war has come to Lebanon? Whose attacks have killed women and children? Credit: CNN

Even when the opportunity arises to send a message of peace and rehumanisation of the Palestinian people, Western media twists its reporting to protect Israel’s occupation.

Read the headline and tell me your impression. The headline suggests that there’s a ‘deeply’ human side to Israel occupying the West Bank. The article covers a pro-Palestinian documentary that tells the deeply human story of challenges that Palestinians face under Israel. Credit: CNN

NBC protects Israel's killing of journalists
Despite overwhelming evidence of journalists being shot, burnt alive and hunted (along their families) by Israel’s army, NBC reports journalist killings as ‘Gaza war’. Credit: NBC

ABC protects Israel's genocide
Must be quite a diplomatic mishap. Doesn’t seem from this headline that Israel is killing civilians in Lebanon and Gaza, causing the ‘diplomatic frustrations’. Why not mention Israel? Credit: ABC News.

A Palestinian girl suffered severe burns from what? Was there a fire? A gas leak? An Israeli attack on civilian blocks? The subhead mentions a lot of children in Gaza are injured, but ABC isn’t sure who or what has injured them. A true mystery. Credit: ABC News.

A leaky gas pipeline in Beirut has exploded. No? Was it an Israeli strike that rocked Beirut? Were there civilians killed? Credit: ABC News

Guardian protects Israeli aggression
Israel has been consistently bombing Lebanon, inflicting civilian casualties. The Guardian swipes those attacks by calling one strike on Beirut ‘rare’ and an isolated incident. Nothing to worry about. Credit: Guardian.

This is nothing new

I don’t need to tell you what to think about these headlines. These aren’t ‘developing’ stories that haven’t been fully reported yet. These headlines are intentionally written to sow doubt about Israel’s aggression and atrocities in Palestine and beyond, to ensure that the Western audience never gets the full picture.

And for the people who think that human history started after October 7th, in every post of this series, I demonstrate that Western media’s protection of Israel is nothing new. I have shared two headlines below from 2014, which fail to mention Israel despite having plenty of real-estate.

Fighting? What fighting? Did Israel reduce Gazan neighbourhoods into rubble? Credit: ABC News

‘Missile strikes’ in Gaza doesn’t exactly clarify who the aggressor was, or do I need to open the article and read the subhead to learn that? Do missiles randomly fall into Gaza like rain? Credit: ABC News
