What Happened?
08 January 2010: A U.S. drone strike targeted a car that allegedly belonged to militants of the Taliban’s Hafiz Gul Bahadur faction. Western media reported that two foreigners and three locals were killed in this attack.
The Pakistani lawyer Barrister Shahzad Akbar alleged that the casualties were exclusively civilians, identifying them as Akbar Zaman, Mir Qalam, Saad Wali Khan, and Muhammad Fayaz. Shrapnel from the missiles also killed a nearby 3-year-old girl, Ayesha.
Given the independent identification, this attack is considered partially documented.
