Date: 08/02/2012

Location: North Waziristan Agency, FATA, Pakistan

Perpetrators: United States

Victims: 10 Killed, 12 Injured

What Happened?

08 February 2012: A U.S. drone strike on a house in Spalaga (Teray Kot) in Miranshah, creating a mass-casualty event. This attack reportedly began at 0650 hours. One local agency, Express Tribune, reported local testimony that the killed men were not locals. Anonymous security officials claimed the victims were ‘suspected militants’ from Central Asia.

There were also speculations that the victims were linked to either the Al-Qaeda or Haqqani Network. Data released years later by FATA officials alleges that the victims may have been Punjabi militants instead. No independent inquiry has been done to document the identities of the slain persons.
