What Happened?
21 July 2011: A U.S. drone strike destroyed a house in the Khushali Tori Khel area of Mirali. No information is available about the time of this attack, nor the house owner. The only local media report on this attack alleges that 4 people have been killed, and the casualty count is expected to rise. No follow-up was ever conducted.
Due to the absence of rescue services, the locals reportedly began rescue efforts on their own, at risk of intentional double-tap strikes by the CIA that explicitly target rescuers.
This was the first U.S. drone strike in FATA following the resignation of an unnamed CIA Station Chief in Islamabad, after the CIA had a tense disagreement with DG-ISI Lt. Gen. Shuja Pasha.
This U.S. drone attack is not logged in the FATA official record of American drone strikes.
