Date: 06/09/2013
Location: North Waziristan Agency, FATA, Pakistan
Perpetrators: United States
Victims: 7 Killed, 7 Injured
What Happened?
06 September 2013: A U.S. drone strike destroyed a house in the Kharwari Tabi area of Ghulam Khan Tehsil. This attack reportedly began at around 0025 hours and locals reported seeing at least 3 drone missiles strike the house.
Media reports indicate that the house belonged to Haqqani Network operatives, and allege that a top-level commander, Sangeen Zadran, had been killed. His death was alleged based on an announcement from a local mosque inviting locals to his funeral service.
BBC alleged that Sangeen was replaced with his brother, Bilal Zadran. There are concerns that two ‘locals’ tribesmen were killed in this attack, identified as Arshad Dawar and Ajmal Dawar.
It was also reported that the bodies of victims were burnt beyond recognition. This U.S. drone attack is undocumented.
