Date: 11/03/2011
Location: North Waziristan Agency, FATA, Pakistan
Perpetrators: United States
Victims: 12 Killed, 7 Injured
What Happened?
11 March 2011: A U.S. drone strike destroyed a car in the Khaisori area of Mirali Tehsil. This attack reportedly occurred at around 1715 hours. Some media reports suggest that a nearby house was also struck. This attack happened in two waves of missiles.
The first missile targeted a moving car that reportedly killed between four to six people. The second missile struck some 10 minutes later, when rescuers were retrieving the dead from the wreckage. This deliberate targeting of civilian rescuers has been commonly observed as a standard of CIA drone attacks. It is not yet known how many rescuers were killed, nor the identities of the victims.
Possible casualties from the destroyed house are also not yet known. No independent inquiry has been done in this attack besides one from TBIJ, which identified at least five civilian deaths.
Possible Casualties: Noor Gul, Jaffar, Faraz, Musa, Kamal
