What Happened?
15 March 2009: A U.S. drone strike targeted a house in the Frontier Region Bannu region of Pakistan. This was the third time that mainland Pakistan outside the tribal agencies had been targeted in a drone strike.
The targeted house belonged to a man named Haji Owais.
It was alleged that the attack had killed 6 people and injured 3, with most of them described as ‘foreigners’ although it is unknown if whether they were migrants or militants. For this reason this attack is considered undocumented.
Jani Khel had been attacked twice before at this point, the first in December 2007 and second in November 2008.
