What Happened?

2 November 2007: Two U.S. drone missiles struck an alleged ‘compound’ in the Danda Darpa Khel area of Miranshah, North Waziristan Agency’s capital. The ‘compound’ was located close to a religious madrassa with links to the Haqqani Network.

A report from a Pakistani news agency, Dawn indicates that those killed were militants related to the Haqqani Network and possibly included Uzbek nationals. Casualties included the compound caretaker, Noor Khan Mehsud.

It is reported that the nearby madrassa was owned by Jalaluddin Haqqani, the founder of the Haqqani Network.

Locals are reported to have claimed that the death toll exceeded 10+.
