What Happened?
15 October 2009: A U.S. drone strike targeted a house in the Danda Darpakhel area of North Waziristan Agency. It was alleged that the house was a ‘compound’ and that it belonged to militants of the Haqqani Network.
No independent investigation was ever conducted on this attack, making it one of the least documented U.S. drone attacks in the agency. Danda Darpa Khel itself was one of the worst hit areas of the region, with multiple massacres that involved children deaths.
