What Happened?
26 September 2010: A U.S. drone strike targeted a car in the Sherani area of North Waziristan. Local media reports indicate that three unknown people were killed, and it could not be determined if whether these were militants or civilian casualties.
This was the third in a series of three U.S. drone strikes in North Waziristan on this day. The identities of these casualties has never been known, raising the concern of so-called ‘signature strikes’ where drone strikes were conducted on mere visual assumptions instead of ground intelligence.
