What Happened?
03 January 2013: A U.S. drone strike destroyed a moving pick-up in the Mubarak Shahi or Ghundi Kili area of Mirali Tehsil. This attack reportedly started at 0900 hours. Media reports alleged that the casualties included Pakistan Taliban militants, including a local commander, Faisal Khan. Other named casualties included Latif and Israr Mehsud.
Sources report that this was a double-tap attack, where the CIA deliberately targeted rescuers looking for survivors. It is unknown if whether any rescuers were killed in this attack.
