What Happened?
04 January 2015: A U.S. drone strike destroyed multiple houses and cars in either the Alwara Mandi area of Datta Khel Tehsil, or somewhere in Shawal Tehsil. This attack reportedly began in the early hours of the morning. Media reports indicate that ‘suspected militants’ were killed.
The New York Times quoted a Pakistani security official claiming that all fatalities in this attack were Uzbek militants. Al Qaeda subsequently confirmed that two operatives were killed around early January. These operatives included a Qari Ubaidullah and Muhammad Ashraf Dar, a militant from Indian Occupied Kashmir.
No other information is known about the other fatalities, leaving this drone attack undocumented.
