What Happened?
24 July 2010: A U.S. drone strike hit a residential compound in Lak Konrai, Tehsil Birmal at around 0000 hours. Another possible name for the location is Dwasarak. The house belonged to a local man named Halimullah. Between 16 and 18 individuals linked to local Taliban leader Maulana Halimullah were killed in the strike.
Local media reports suggested that some “foreign fighters” may have been among those killed. In January 2014, an internal Pakistani government record of CIA drone strikes listed 16 “locals” killed in this attack.
Given these contradictions, casualty composition remains unverified.
