What Happened?
28 December 2012: A U.S. drone strike destroyed a house in the Gurbaz area of Shawal Tehsil. A local news agency, The Nation, reported that at least four people had been killed. However, their bodies were so far destroyed that their identities could not be established. AFP reported that security officials had no information on the identities of those killed.
These circumstances create a high likelihood of civilian casualties. This is one of the least documented and most obscure U.S. attacks in the region. This U.S. drone strike is not acknowledged nor logged in the FATA officials record, adding to its obscurity and lack of documentation.
