What Happened?
12 January 2012: A U.S. drone strike destroyed two cars in the Doga Mada Khel area of Datta Khel Tehsil. This attack reportedly occurred at 1800 hours. Media reports allege that foreigners were killed, although their bodies were charred beyond recognition, leaving them unidentified.
Western sources alleged that TTP leader Hakimullah Mehsud was killed, however this was not true as Mehsud was not killed until 2013. It was also reported by Western sources that Pakistan’s military intelligence was closely coordinating human intelligence networks with the CIA.
Data released by FATA officials instead reports that this attack happened in the New Adda area, and that 5 ‘locals’ were killed.
